~2,000 hours: High-strength parts lifespan at a Kaliningrad quarry

August 4, 2026

At one of the quarries in the Kaliningrad region, the Rudprom team extended the service life of crushing equipment liners and mantles by modifying the steel composition. Given the intensive operating conditions, a high-wear-resistant steel was proposed to replace the previously used 110G13L steel.

Initial parameters: the equipment processes sand-gravel mix (SGM), with the processed material having a strength class of no less than 1200 and a stone content of at least 50% of the raw feed. Production is organized in two eight-hour shifts, with the crusher gap set to its minimum value.

Under these parameters, the actual service life of liners and mantles reaches approximately 2000 operating hours.

This result demonstrates the importance of considering future operating conditions when selecting spare parts. Raw material characteristics, operational intensity, and equipment parameters influence the requirements for wear parts — therefore, the Rudprom team selects them based on the specific conditions of each project site.
